Building the "Mimi" a Sam Devlin Designed Garvey

I enjoy and learn a great deal reviewing other boat builders' posts so it's only fair that I post mine. I started building Mimi in 2003 after asking a bunch of questions of the great folks at a duck boat building forum called "duckboats.net". I wanted a boat capable of safely crossing Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay in the dead of winter as I enjoy duck hunting. It had to be safe, spacious and run at least 30 knots. I decided on the "Snow Goose" design. It's a great boat.

Nice thing about a wooden boat... one can change it, fix it or improve it at will... in 2008, I added a console, hydraulic steering and painted it...
